3x3Hustle Coming to Australian Schools Championships

The largest event on the Junior Championship calendar is going to get even bigger this year with Basketball Australia partnering with the NBL to bring the 3×3 Hustle to the 2018 Australian School Championships.

Held from December 2-7 in South East Melbourne, a record number of teams have confirmed their participation to compete in the School Championships which will see teams in Under-20, Under-17, Under-15 divisions as well as a Championship Division go head-to-head.

Following the opening ceremony on December 2 at the State Basketball Centre in Wantirna South, an official 3×3 Hustle event will be held- open to all competing students at the School Championships.

Last year’s inaugural 3×3 tournament saw 21 teams battle in Under-20, Under-17 and Under-15 divisions with Hillcrest taking out two Championships while Shore, Lilydale and John Paul College were also victorious.

There will be six divisions at this year’s 3×3 Hustle event and as an official FIBA competition, each player and school will receive international FIBA ranking points.

The six victorious teams will also earn automatic spots in the 2019 NBL Big Hustle, Australia’s National 3×3 Championship.

Additionally, every team that competes will have the opportunity to qualify for the 2019 NBL Urban Hustle.
