NBL Champion Leads Stateside In FIBA World Tour Masters

NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle champions West Melbourne Stateside will compete in the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Chengdu Masters this weekend.

West Melbourne, which played under the name Stateside Sports during the recent NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle, qualified for the World Tour Chengdu Masters by winning the 2019 Pro Tour.

2017 NBL champion Lucas Walker will lead West Melbourne alongside 2012 All-NBL Second Team member Peter Crawford, Cooper Wilks and Tim Keating, who all impressed in this year’s Pro Hustle.

Stateside will face Riga (the world’s number three ranked team) on Saturday at 2:55pm AEST and Gagarin (the world’s number seven ranked team) on Saturday at 4:40pm AEST in their pool games.

The finals will be played Sunday from 6:20pm AEST. All games will be streamed live on the 3x3Hustle Facebook page.

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour consists of 11 Masters tournaments, culminating with the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final on November 2-3.

Australia will also be in action tonight, in the first stop of the inaugural FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series.

Asia Cup gold medallists Bec Cole, Alice Kunek, Maddie Garrick and Hanna Zavecz will represent Australia.

All pool games are on Friday, with Australia playing Mongolia at 7:10pm AEST, USA at 8:00pm AEST and France at 10:50pm AEST.

The finals will be played on Saturday night between 8:30pm-10:30pm AEST.
