3x3Hustle Teams Head To Mongolia

3x3Hustle teams West Melbourne Stateside and Geelong Supercats will compete at the FIBA 3×3 Ulaanbaatar Challenger this weekend.

West Melbourne will be represented by Lucas Walker, Peter Crawford, Cooper Wilks and Tim Keating. They qualified for the Ulaanbaatar Challenger by winning the Darwin NBL 3×3 Pro Hustle event earlier this year.

Stateside’s first game will be at 3:40pm AEST on Saturday against Tsogttsetsii. Their second game will be at 4:30pm AEST on Saturday against Changzhou.

Geelong will be represented by Demarcus Gatlin, Lewis Thomas, Liam McInerney and Darcy Harding. They will face Ljubljana at 6:00pm AEST on Saturday and Utsunomiya at 7:40pm AEST on Saturday in their two pool matches.

The knockout stages will be played on Sunday. All games will be streamed on the FIBA 3×3 YouTube channel.

Challenger events serve as play-in tournaments for World Tour Master events, with the Ulaanbaatar Challenger a pathway towards making the Saskatoon Masters in July.

3×3 basketball will make its debut as an Olympic sport in 2020 and a Commonwealth Games sport in 2022.
